Hold’em has four betting rounds. This fact serves to compound the advantages of late position and the disadvantages of early position.
Even if the pot narrows down to two players, these positional considerations will still apply, maybe more so.

In early position, you are subjecting yourself to one or more raises behind you. The earlier your position the more risk you are taking.
In preFLOP, some hands are only worth playing if there are many other CALLers. In early position you are just guessing about how many people will play.
The importance of the extra bets that may be saved or gained by being in late position cannot be overemphasized. Never forget that in poker we are trying to win a lot of money – not a lot of pots.

You must take your position very much into account when you are deciding whether to play a specific hand or not.
The earlier your position, the better your first two cards must be. Not only because you are in danger of a raise behind you before the flop, but also because of the bets that are not gained (or saved) when you turn a hand in this position. Conversely, the opposite considerations apply in late position.

Small pairs and straight flush cards go up in value with many players. High cards and high pairs go down.

A flush is only made 6 percent of the time with these hands (includes losing to a higher flush).

As your cards get lower, you are counting quite abit on your flush chances when you are suited.

The same principle applies to straight cards.However, if the cards are not middle sized, the numbers of straightcombinations decreases. The number will always between zero and four.

TT
      TT will win many small pots as well as a few bigones.
      If only small cards come, the tens will verypossibly either get no action or run into a hand that beats them.

AT
      If you make two aces only, you must know how to getaway from it, if it doesn’t figure to be the best hand.

Any pair below nines cannot win any kind of decentpot without making ‘trips’.

Six interrelated criteria.
      What are the chances ofmaking the best hand?
      What are the chances ofmaking a flush or a straight?
      What are the chances offlopping top pair and what are the chances that no overcard will fall?
      What are the chances ofmaking a hand that figures to win a big pot (because the players will tend tomake second best
      hands)?
      What are the chances ofmaking a hand that might well just lose money since it will be second besthand?

玩家数量多的时候，小对，Flush（同花）和 Straight（顺子）价值升高，高牌和高对的价值下降。

在牌局中得到 Flush 只有6%的机会（这里包括输给更高同花的可能）

玩家玩的牌越小越需要 Flush 和 Straight 来获得胜利。

Straight 起手牌来说，Straight的组合在 0 到 4 种之间。（如56：23456、34567、45678、56789）

关于 TT （对十）
TT 会赢得很多的小 pot （奖池）（以Over Pair出现，就是比公共牌最高的牌还要高）和一些大 pot（主要以 Set 出现，即三张）。
如果公共牌都是小牌，其他玩家很可能要么根本不会行动，要么会打败TT。

AT
在 Ace 成对时，必须要知道什么时候弃牌。

任何在 9 以下的小对，都需要形成 trip（等于 set，三张的意思）来赢得一个体面的 pot。

Plunger 注：
      三张的英文：Three of a kind （官方），一般没人讲。Set，Trip 为口语。
      Flop 第三张牌的 Odds （即赔率）为 8:1，即平均每 9 次成功一次。这个数字排除了输给更高 Set 的机会。

在思考起手牌强弱时的六个问题：很重要！

      成为最强牌的可能
      成为 Flush 或 Straight 的可能
      Flop 最高对而没有更高的牌在 Turn 或 River 出现的可能
      在得到最强牌的时候，其他玩家同时得到次强牌的可能（注：在最强牌时其他玩家得到次强牌才是赢钱的关键。）
      成为次强牌的可能（注：次强牌是最危险的！）

It isn’t usually worth “chasing.” If you can ascertain that you have the worst hand, it is usually time to fold.

These factors lead to the general rule that a good player is tight but aggressive. He will not play that many hands, but when he does play a hand, he will try to take command.

A true expert may have to be played differently in some situations in order to throw him off. It is rarely correct to always play the same way in a particular situation when you are usually playing with the same players. Even the best play lose value when your opponents can pick up your pattern. Therefore, you should occasionally play a hand incorrectly (technically), in order that you don’t give a hand away now and in the future.

When a particular situation indicating opposing strategy, you must balance the concepts as far as what is to be gained and lost before deciding on the right play.

Never for get that your goal in a poker game is to win money -- as much as possible. You goal is not to win pots. It is not even to have as high a winning percentage of sessions as possible. It is simply to make the most money in the long run

You quit when the games becomes too tough, or you have to leave for personal reasons. How you are doing should never be a factor. This attitude is one of the most important prerequisites for a successful poker player.

Part Four: Flops You Want

You are not always hoping to make your best possible hand. The reason for this is that you may not get any action with these hands.

A lesser hand may have a greater chance of being the best hand than a better one.

With less players, you are more interested in having the best hand than in having a hand that will get action as you will get action anyway.

If you hold second and third pair, a player holding top pair has a 25 percent chance to outdraw you.

Flopping a straight is always better than flopping a flush because the other players are more cautious when three of suit falls than when there is a possible straight, as they should be.

In general, what determines what the best flops are for any particular hold cards is simply which flops figure to earn the greatest profit in the long run.

If there were a very large amount of money in the pot before the flop, it would be more important that you flop the nuts than that you flop a hand which will get action, since the later bets lose importance in comparison to the size of the pot.

关于 Flop

我们并不总是期望 Flop 到最强的 hand，因为这样可能得不到其他 Player 的动作。

手上较小的一张牌组成的 Top Pair （顶对），比较大的一张组成的对子其实更好。（AT，A成对不如T成顶对）。

玩家的数量较少的时候，我们期望组成最强的牌，而不是较弱却能得到其他玩家动作的牌，因为总会有动作。

Flop 到较低的 Two Pair （两对）时，顶对玩家在 Turn 或 River 听到 Two Pair 的概率在25%

Flop Straight 比 Flop Flush 要好，因为玩家一般对同花更敏感。

如果 Flop 前已经有相当的钱在 Pot，那么 Flop 到 nuts （最强牌）更为重要，因为这个时候，与 pot 的规模相比，后面的 bet 就不太重要了。

Semi Bluffing

Betting a hand thatis hoping for everyone else to fold, yet still has a chance to win even if itis called.

This play comes upmost frequently in Hold’em when you have flopped an inside straight draw orsecond or third pair with an overcard kicker.

When you are in lastposition it may be correct not to semi-bluff if you are drawing to a cinchhand, since by betting you now risk a check raise.

A good rule tofollow:

If your hand is worth a call if youcheck and someone else bets, then it is better to bet yourself if you havelittle fear of a raise and there is some chance you will win right then.

1. When youare called, and you do hit the card to make your hand, your opponent willusually misread your hand, thereby winning you a larger pot than you would haveotherwise expected.

2. If younever bluff on the flop or fourth street, you are giving away too muchinformation when you do bet. It is therefore correct to bluff occasionally inthis situation.

3. You cannow get a free card on fourth street if he now checks and you didn’t hit thecard you were hoping for.

半诈和

半诈和的定义：以使其他玩家 fold 为目的，然而，如果有人 Call，仍然有机会获得胜利。

3. 如果在 fourth street，没有听到（miss），那么对手可能对玩家 check，这时玩家就得到了一张 Free Card（免费牌，后面有专门讲解）。

写下一点个人的东西，Semi-Bluffing 是一个非常重要的战术，尤其在 No Limit 中。

单纯从牌面来说，只有两种情况，玩家占有优势或玩家占劣势。而再劣势时，可以采用三种措施，fold，call 而且期待 draw out（听牌），bluff。

这里只讨论第二种。

Semi - Bluff 的优势在于，能够很好的隐藏自己的意图，使对手造成错误的判断。一方面，当我们听到牌时，之前的 bet 或 raise 迷惑了对手，从而造就了一个吃对手的绝好机会。另一方面当我们 miss 的时候，之前的 bet 或 raise 又为 Bluff 做了很好的铺垫。

Semi - Bluff 的模式分为两种，一种是 bet，另一种是 raise。

bet 来说，一般在 Early Position，既然后面的人要 Bet，与其 Call，不如自己下 Bet。这样我们得到了两个优势。第一，对手会错误估计我们的意图。第二，对手牌不强或者水平不高的话，一般只会 call 我们的 bet，这样我们可以控制 bet 的数量和 Odds。（这个技术又叫 Block Bet)。

raise 则在 late position，一般期望在 turn 得到一张 free card。楼主经验来说，在对水平一般的玩家时，这个时候不要 free card，bet 或 raise往往更好。当然这个动作也可能导致 Two Pair 或 Trip 提前 all in，所以根据情况自己考虑。

Bet 或 raise 的数量，要达成的效果就有点诡异了。就是要么有两个 caller，要么让他们全部 fold。

当确定某个数量的 bet 或 raise 有两个caller 的时候，一定要下注。pot 越大，对手放进去的钱越多，越难bluff，但听的时候才越有可能把对手吃死。这个需要自己p

如果 miss 了，就要决定是否 Bluff。之前我们的 bet 或 raise 又起到了另一个作用，就是在这个时候，我们就已经知道了对手牌面的实力。如果感觉到对手示弱，就可以 bluff。bluff 的bet 根据对手牌的强弱决定，尽量的大一些，甚至all in。在情况不明朗的时候，最优策略往往是保守，所以弃牌是对手最有可能采取的策略。

在 Semi bluff 的时候，对 Short Stack（小注玩家）要格外留心，他们是最有可能 all in 搅局的。而反过来，Short Stack 下注而不all in 是示弱的表现，根据情况可以考虑 Bluff。
