The Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) is now underway, and is set to become one of the world's richest poker tours. It incorporates many firsts in the poker world, including the first major poker tournaments in South Korea, the Philippines and Sydney!
/ r  W% s& O0 X0 iThe winner of the first event in Manila was 22-year-old political science student Brett Parise, from Indiana, USA. Parise’s pair of 10s were enough to beat second place winner Ira Blumenthal when heads-up, allowing him to take down the first prize worth $179,775.

Please note, Korean nationals are prohibited from participating.

( v" E7 }# k1 WPokerStars' online satellites for APPT Seoul start on July 30 and run until September 16, 2007. Daily qualifiers start from as little as $22, giving players the chance to win an APPT prize package worth $5,000 - including the $2,500 tournament buy-in, four nights' hotel accommodation (from September 27-30) and $1,800 spending money to cover transportation expenses.

To enter, go the tournament lobby, click "Events", then "APPT". Direct Buy-in InformationPlayers who would like to register in advance for the APPT Seoul (and be guaranteed a seat) should e-mail registrations@pokerstars.com to receive instructions on sending their payment by wire transfer or bank draft. Players may buy $2,500 seat-only packages or they may also buy $700 four-night APPT accommodation packages which include breakfast - depending on availability. The deadline for advance payment by wire transfer or bank draft is September 14, 2007. For those wishing to pay in person, cash purchases in US dollars only will be accepted on Friday September 28 starting at 1000 until the the tournament begins depending on availability (a queue will likely start before 1000). Please take note that the event is limited to 250 players plus 50 alternates. Credit card buy-ins will not be accepted. W$ Buy-In Information Depending on availability, players may buy in to APPT events using W$ providing they have PlatinumStar or Supernova VIP status on PokerStars. Requests for W$ direct buy-ins must be submitted to registrations@pokerstars.com and requests need to be received before the the September 16 final online qualifying tournament on PokerStars and whilst PokerStars still has seats to sell. To avoid disappointment, please notify PokerStars as soon as possible if you want to buy-in directly. Players may buy $2,500 seat-only packages or they may also buy $700 four-night APPT accommodation packages which include breakfast - depending on availability.

9 z) ?* z) q+ b' t2 mAll W$ buy-ins to APPT events will be PokerStars sponsored players for that APPT event, and they are required to wear a PokerStars shirt for the duration of the tournament. All players who buy-in with W$ will be supplied with a PokerStars player bag. Live Satellite QualificationSingle and multi-table satellites for the APPT Seoul main event will be starting at the Walkerhill Casino from 14:00 on September 27, 2007.

Prize PayoutsAll monetary prizes for APPT Seoul main event tournament winners will be paid either to players' PokerStars accounts or by wire transfer within 10 days of the event's conclusion. No prizes for the main event will be paid at the event in Seoul.

All buy-ins and pay-outs for secondary "side events" will be in US dollars at the events. WELCOME PARTY
